Random Video Chat Etiquette: Do's and Don'ts

Random Video Chat Etiquette

Random chat has norms even when nobody writes them down. Good etiquette makes sessions better for you and for the person on the other side of the call.

Do

  • Start with a simple hello and a light question.
  • Keep your camera framing intentional — face visible, background calm.
  • Skip quickly if interests clearly do not match.
  • Report real abuse instead of arguing.

Don't

  • Demand personal contact info, money, or private photos.
  • Harass someone who declines a topic or wants to leave.
  • Assume every stranger wants flirting or long-term chatting.

Full rules live in Freezy’s community guidelines. For safety habits, read the safety hub and talk to strangers safely. Prefer a softer start? Try talk to strangers modes beyond video-only.
